Hello and welcome to a new lesson! Today we're going to revise how to report questions, requests and imperatives; and we're also going to work and learn new reporting verbs. 

1- Read the theory from previous classes and turn these sentences from direct into reported speech:

4- The people in the picture had a meeting yesterday in which they discussed some business matters. Read their comments and turn them into reported speech:

LESSON 34


Welcome to a new lesson! Today we're going to continue working with REPORTED SPEECH, but we're going to focus on REPORTING VERBS. Go to page 78 SB.

1- Read the arcticle and mark the sentences T (True) or F (False):



2- Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs. Then check in the article:



3- Match the verbs with the definitions. Use a dictionary to help you:


4- Complete the rules with REPORTING VERBS from the previous exercises:


5- Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs and any other necessary words:



6- Rewrite the sentences in reported speech. Use suitable reporting verbs:




HOMEWORK:
1- Write a newspaper report about a crime (100-150 words):



- Give a description of the crime (what happened)
- Include what one witness said.
- Say what the investigators think.


Today's class is really short because I want you to revise from unit 1 to unit 8 for Friday's exam. Remember that it begins at 5, and you have to be punctual.
