  • Hello students! Welcome to our lesson N° 9.
  • Today we're going to begin by checking your answers to last class activities:


 ACTIVITY 1: (Questions about the reading)
1- It happened in 1666.
2- It started when and oven in a bakery got too hot.
3- It lasted for four days.
4- Some people escaped from the city on boats, while others dived into the river.
5- The Duke of York stopped it by getting his soldiers to demolish a large warehouse full of paper. This created a "fire break", which prevented the flames from spreading any further.
6- It destroyed many houses and made many people homeless.

  • Last class we had a presentation of the four tenses we are going to study in this unit: PAST SIMPLE, PAST CONTINUOUS, PAST PERFECT AND PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS.

  • But let's take a look at the form and uses of the PAST PERFECT now. 









  • Let's do some practice:
1- Put the verbs in brackets into the correct form of the PAST PERFECT SIMPLE:




2. It was Marie's birthday yesterday and she gave a party for her friends. What had she done before the day of the party?. Ask questions and answer them using the prompts below, as in the example:




3. Use the prompts to make sentences as in the examples. Use the words After/ When and Before:
