Welcome to our 14th lesson! Today you have the test of unit 2, so click and do your best! 




After the test we're going to begin unit 3: What's in a name?


Look at the names and logos. What do you think this unit is going to be about?







1- They are brand names. Do you think they are important? Let's read and listen to a blog entry (page 31SB)





2- Copy and look up in a dictionary any word/ phrase you don't know or understand from the text.

3- Answer these questions about the blog:
1- Why do companies think a lot about a brand name?

2- What makes a good brand name?

3- Why were each of these names chosen?
a- Jaguar                   b- Pret A Manger               c- WhatsApp

4- Why was Nova a bad name for a car in Spain?

5- Why do some teenagers choose to buy more expensive products (like clothes)?


Writers use a new paragraph when they want to change the topic. The opening line of a paragraph usually gives you a clue about its topic.

4- Look at paragraphs 3 and 4. What is the topic of each paragraph? Tick two options:

5- Now, complete the sentences from the article on page 31. Then complete the rule with HAVE TO, DON'T HAVE TO, OUGHT TO, SHOULD, SHOLDN'T and MUST.



6- Complete the conversation with the correct form of HAVE TO:

1. Complete the conversation with suitable modal verbs. There is often more than one possible answer (send a photo of this activity to my mail)


2- Remember that on the zoom class on Friday you have to talk about the project you prepared about "Events that shook the world", so be ready!
